It's beginning to look a lot like ...

Weather hot enough for lots of swims!

Sleeping in the air conditioning in the dining room.

Look at him sleeping on his side like a good little anti-SIDS baby!

Hot, isn't it.

Whoa, hang on there CS, the Sids & Kids people say never EVER sleep your baby on the side. Ever.

So I'm not feeling all that great about posting a picture of him doing it.

Except I sat there and watched him sleep (and not die.) He was too cute not to watch.

You know those large, speckled, black stock pots? The kind from back in the day (as I can't seem to find a single picture of one to illustrate my comment)? Well, when we were kids and would stay at my grandparents' house in the summers, my Nana would set out her biggest cooking pots in the back yard on the grass, fill them with water and plunk naked grandchildren into them, then go about her gardening work.

Never mind that most grandparents would have an actual wading pool *or* the fact that this particular set of grandparents actually lived on a lake, so there was a beach just a few yards away from the back lawn on which she stuck her grandbaby stews. Nana did this with our cousins (who are 7 and 9 years older than me) and then did it with my siblings and I when we were of age.

Ah, memories. :-)

I still can't wrap my noggin around the fact that Christmas is a summertime holiday for half the world. Especially as I sit here freezing my ever-expanding rear off and watch the snow falling outside my window as dawn breaks.

I don't understand the no side sleeping thing. Mine made it on their sides. I think it is a great compromise.
He sure is sweet taking his little nap with his pacifier.

Why is nobody concerned that "Dad & Mum" have to share a stocking?! This is an outrage.
