She befriended me in college, kept in touch after that, continued being a great friend, and then she helped me clean out under the deck after that ghastly bed-bug scandal. She then spent a whole day with me getting my house ready for Open Homes recently. This gal is great.
I would like to post a photo of my very good friend here. I have a lovely one of her and her Beloved, who like his wife, is the salt of the earth. He is very lovely bloke all round.
However I notice that Hippomanic Jen's Beloved's image hasn't made it into her own blog yet. This makes me think that perhaps he (or she) doesn't want it to go international yet. I will therefore approach the publication of his image with sensitivity, discretion and Photoshop. And as you know, my Photoshop Skillz are rough as guts.
So here is my lovely friend with her Beloved who bears a resemblance to the handsome Nicolas Cage:
Happy Birthday, my dear friend. I hope you had a lovely day! I'll see more of you soon!

Oh, happy birthday Hip-Jen! (I'm assuming you'll read the comments here.) Your husband, who looks uncannily like Nicolas Cage, has a very strange square haircut... but I'm sure you love him anyway. ;)
Anyway I hope it was a fabulous birthday. It's been great getting to know you online in the last year or so. xoxo
Ooooo, happy birthday! Your secret is safe with us! ;P
Hope the birthday was great fun, Hip-Jen (again, if she's reading these comments!).
Nice of you to celebrate her big day on Fly, G!
Hope all is well down in the southern hemisphere. I guess Earth Hour has already come and gone?!
Oh Happy Birthday to Hip Jen! I hope that she has a fabulous day.
Yeah, Earth Hour, heh, funny story about THAT, but it will have to wait for a different post.
YAY Happy Birfday Hip Jen!!!!!!!! Love the pic of you & Nick Cage!! Woo Hoo!!
Now, just for a s.p.l.i.t. second, you had me going with that photo! Good friends are hard to come by, and the ones who have and keep them are blessed.
That is so true, and this friends is extra-specially good!
Can you tell that I had no time to blog over the weekend?
Thank you all for your kind comments and wishes.
Thanks also to Givinya for hosting a virtual birthday party. A surprise party, too. I didn't even know it was happening until days later!
And that photo is beautiful. Well done!
The sad thing is that I had scanned down and looked at the pictures first. (Yes, I do that.) The thing was I didn't notice the substitution until I thought that the light was wrong on my Beloved's face. I use the fact that I haven't got my glasses on as my excuse. Then I realised what you'd done. Very clever and thanks for the giggle.
My Photoshop Skillz being what they are, I'm surprised I fooled anyone at all for even a split second! I couldn't even cut out Nic C's head properly, as Femina pointed out. Let's call it hat-hair.
Oh, and there is no photo of my beloved on my blog because it is really hard to get a good one of him - he is very camera-shy and pulls faces that come out worse than he thought a serious one would have. One day I'll get him, though.
PS - My beloved enjoyed it too. Based on one of our family jokes.
