Me: Oh did you sweetheart?
Anna-Lucia: At Gamma house I wots Woss 'n' Gommit.
Me: Really? Was it good?
Anna-Lucia: At Gamma house I wots Woss 'n' Gommit.
Me: Oh yes?
Anna-Lucia: At Gamma house I wots Woss 'n' Gommit.

Nat: Mum!
Me: Yes?
Nat: Mum!
Me: Yes?
Nat: MUM!
Me: Yes, Nat!
Nat: MUM-MEEE!
Me: Nat, I hear you. Speak now. What do you want to tell me?
Nat: Mum!
Me: Nope. Not answering that. This Information Booth is closed for the day.

Anna-Lucia (peering into the rubbish bin): What's that?
Me: I don't know sweetheart.
Anna-Lucia: What's that?
Me: I said I don't know.
Anna-Lucia: What's that Mummy?
Me: Anna, listen: I don't know what you're talking about.
Anna-Lucia: What's that Mummy?
Me: Look at my eyes. I can't see the thing you're talking about and I'm feeding Joseph, so I can't come over there and check it out.
Anna-Lucia (pause): Oh. Maybe Gogg Poo.
Me: (Got up to check it out.)

  2. Love the fact that this post immediately follows the last. That seems to be the life of a mum.

  3. Here's my favourite response to such conversations;'Really? Wow, go and tell Daddy!' Or if Daddy's at work 'Here's my mobile phone - call Daddy'. Ahh, but it's all cute :)

  4. Jack does the same thing as Nat! "Mommy" - "What?". "Mommy" - "What?". And on and on and on. So I've instated a new rule - I will ask him "what?" one time, but not any more after that. I think he's slowly catching on, but definitely not happy about it when I don't say "what?" 300 times. :)

  5. I have so had similar conversations, especially the one in the middle with Hayden.

  6. I'm just wondering how Gogg Poo ended up in your bin...

  7. I kinda hope it was Gogg Poo, just so Anna-Lucia will be justified. :)

  8. I think that's why at the end of the day we need to talk to an adult! :) My husband used to be frustrated that as soon as he walked in the door, I "attacked" him with conversation!!! Now that my kids are older, the need is not so great!

  9. Oh dear! That's funny. When I'm on the tail end of those sorts of conversations, I wind up blowing raspberries every time somebody says "MUM!". Mature, I know.

My little girl told me not to worry once, as the Gogg Poo was now in the bin.

It took a little while to find which bin. I'm not sure if she used the scoop, either...
