What a way to start the day

It was time for Sonny Ma-Jiminy to get his pyjamas off and his 'daytime clothes' on. This is something he could easily procrastinate for hours, but enough is enough.

I asked Sonny Ma-Jiminy to 'do me a favour' by putting his pyjamas in the washing hamper before I put his daytime clothes on. Hey, I'm pregnant, large and uncomfortable (yes, even this early on.) I take all the help I can get.

He dashed off to put his clothes in the hamper and dashed back. Then he stopped still with the funniest look on his face. I've never seen that expression before - an enigmatic, sheepish sort of smile.

"Oops," he said. "I put them in the wong place."

No problem, I thought. The hamper is beside what? The basin, the shower: no major hassle if he put his pyjamas in there.

"Where did you put them?" I asked.

"In the toilet," quoth he.

"In the WHERE?!?!?"

"In the toilet."

And so he had.

As it turns out, sometime earlier he had used that very facility in order to become lighter, and it appeared to have been ugly.

And hadn't flushed.

Ooooooooooooooooh

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kiddo rarely flushes, either. But, at the risk of jinxing myself, of all the "motherhood is horrible" childhood things that can happen and have happened to me (blow-out diapers in public with no back-ups, all manner of childhood effluvial excretions, showered and spattered upon me also at times in public, embarrassing remarks said quite loudly in public, etc.....), I can say with no small amount of relief that I have never, ever had to fish anything out of the toilet in Kiddo's almost-six years on Earth.

*knocking wood*

I am so sorry, my friend. There's just no bright side to having to deal with that. Unless, of course, you count the ample material it provided for a blog post.....

:P

Hmmm. . . hamper/toilet- they both have lids. . .

At least he didn't mistake the hamper for the toilet- you've got that going for you!

Hope the rest of the day turned out a little better :)

Not a good combo for a pregnant mom to clean up.

ROTFL! I think it's funny when kids do stuff like that (mixing up things). I think it's even funnier when I do the same thing. :)

I wonder if it's too early to start teaching him to do his own laundry? :)

Oooh, we had a Super Bad Brain Fade here today too. I wish I could tell you he won't have those anymore by the time he is 9. But alas, I cannot. So sorry!
